One of the main skills that librarians have is competence in acting as a cultural mediator. Thus, this work had the intention to bring out information that highlights the appreciation of the need for the librarian's actions as a mediating agent of culture in the Public Library Clodomir Silva. The general objective is to analyze cultural mediation in cultural actions developed by the librarian at the Municipal Public Library Clodomir Silva located in Aracaju / Se. The specific objectives are: to describe the cultural mediation actions performed by the librarian at the Biblioteca Clodomir Silva; analyze the role of the librarian in a cultural mediation action; to raise, among users, their perception of the actions taken; finally, to raise with the librarian information about his performance as a professional of the institution. Therefore, aspects such as the actions that are mediated by the librarian at the institution were raised. In addition, the role of the librarian in a cultural mediation action carried out in December 2019 entitled “the story hour” was analyzed. Through a survey among users, it was possible to study his perception of the process, and, finally, an interview with the coordinator and librarian of the institution helped in the practical results of the importance of this professional working in libraries. This work has as methodology the exploratory research and the method of data collection was through observation. In the survey conducted among users, the semi-structured questionnaire was used in order to know their profile and their perception of the action they participated. The interview with the librarian was recorded and then transcribed. The results showed positive impacts promoted to the library user, such as the incentive to creativity, reading and literature; moments of entertainment and interaction; in addition to the development of motor coordination and support for cultural knowledge. In addition, the research showed that the main activities carried out by the library are storytelling, workshops and exhibitions, also known as writers' murals, which have a monthly schedule.
