Final paper on the central theme informational competence within the public library. In this perspective, it brought the following problem: how, under the bias of information literacy, users of the Biblioteca Pública Municipal Clodomir Silva do their research? Its general objective is to identify how users of the Biblioteca Pública Municipal Clodomir Silva do their research from the perspective of information literacy. Its specific objectives are: to identify the profile of library users; identify the use of information in the library; analyze users' skills in their research from the perspective of information literacy. The methodology adopted was descriptive research and bibliographic research, with quali-quantitative approaches. The data collection instrument was a form with closed, open and mixed questions. The sample consisted of 50 users of the referred Library. This research is justified by understanding that informational competence is of great importance for the intellectual development of each individual. It is a driving force that seeks to make each individual an independent being in terms of proficiency and effectiveness in terms of research, appropriation and use of information throughout their lives. Therefore, it is concluded that the general objective has been achieved and the starting question has been answered.
