RESUMO: Este artigo tem como objetivo central apresentar uma proposta de atividade com base na investigação da realização do tempo verbal futuro do presente, nas produções orais e escritas dos alunos do 9º ano, do Colégio Municipal Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães, no município de Piripá- BA. Como professores de Língua Portuguesa, observamos que, nas falas e produções escritas dos nossos alunos, a forma perifrástica, com o verbo IR como auxiliar, uso não previsto pela gramática normativa, tem sido uma forma bastante recorrente. Dessa forma, realizamos uma discussão sobre o assunto, abordando, à luz da Teoria Sociofuncionalista e do Processo de Gramaticalização, as formas de futuro do presente na Tradição Gramatical e na Tradição Linguística, bem como no contexto escolar. Diante do exposto, é salutar que, em nossa pesquisa, estejam envolvidos discentes, docentes e livros didáticos de Língua Portuguesa. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Futuro Perifrástico. Verbo IR. Variação.   ABSTRACT: This article aims to present an activity proposal based on the investigation of the future tense of the present tense, in the oral and written productions of the 9th grade students of the Deputy Luís Eduardo Magalhães Municipal School, in Piripá-BA. As Portuguese language teachers, we observe that in our students’ written speech and productions the periphery form, with the IR verb as auxiliary, use not foreseen by normative grammar, has been a very recurrent form. Thus, we have a discussion on the subject, addressing, in the light of Sociofunctionalist Theory and the Process of Grammaticalization, the future forms of the present in Grammatical Tradition and Linguistic Tradition, as well as in the school context. Given the above, it is salutary that, in our research, students, teachers and textbooks of Portuguese Language are involved. KEYWORDS: Peripheral future. Verb go. Variation.
