CRENÇAS SOBRE ENSINAR INGLÊS COM MÚSICA: UM ESTUDO DE CASO: BELIEFS ABOUT TEACHING ENGLISH THROUH MUSIC: A STUDY CASE

RESUMO: O artigo analisa as crenças de uma professora sobre usar música na aula de inglês. Os resultados sugerem uma relação complexa entre as crenças da professora, as condições contextuais de trabalho e a interpretação particular do sujeito desses fenômenos na configuração das tarefas que a professora decide realizar. As implicações consideram que do ponto de vista histórico-cultural, as crenças têm potencial mediador da ação humana, mas devem ser entendidas sempre em relação aos ambientes culturais onde as pessoas agem. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Crenças. Língua inglesa. Música. Ensino.   ABSTRACT: This paper analyzes the beliefs of an English teacher about using music in her classes. The results suggest a complex relationship between the teacher’s beliefs, the contextual conditions and the subjects’ unique interpretation of the phenomena which shapes the tasks the teacher decides as an option. The implications are that from a cultural-historical standpoint beliefs have the potential to mediate human action, but they have to be understood always in relation to the cultural environments where people act upon.
