The Botanical Garden of São Paulo and the promotion of ecological restoration in schools

Resumo: The Education for Conservation Research Center is responsible for the educational activities and the scientific dissemination of the Botanical Institute of the State Department of Infrastructure and the Environment of São Paulo, and, through its educational program, aims to provide understanding of the importance of conservation of the biodiversity, developing educational visits and activities of interpretation of the environment. From March 2016 to December 2017, we investigated which aspects of ecological restoration were important for visitors who experienced our activities. Only 12% of the schools under scrutiny mentioned ecological restoration as the object of the visit. Taking these schools in consideration, we served 3,483 students and 212 teachers. The results indicate that the garden fulfills its educational and conservationist mission, since it is in tune with the work the schools perform. The content they work on, during and after the visits, reflects the knowledge and skills required to understand the ecological restoration process.

Desde marzo de 2016 hasta diciembre de 2017, investigamos que aspectos de la restauración ecológica fueron importantes para los visitantes que visitaron nuestro espacio y experienciaron nuestras actividades. El 12% de las escuelas encuestadas mencionan la restauración ecológica como el objeto de la visita. Considerando estas escuelas, 3,483 estudiantes y 212 maestros fueron servidos. Los resultados indican que el jardín cumple su misión educativa y conservacionista, pues está em sintonia com el trabajo que las escuelas desarollan. Los contenidos trabajados, mientras y después de las visitas, reflejan los conocimientos y habilidades requeridas para comprender el proceso de restauración ecológica.Le Centre de Recherche sur l'Éducation à la Conservation est responsable des activités éducatives et de la diffusion scientifique de l'Institut botanique du Département d'État des infrastructures et de l'environnement de São Paulo et gère le programme éducatif pour favoriser la compréhension de l'importance de la conservation de la biodiversité, le développement des visites pédiatriques et les activités d'interprétation de l'environnement. De mars 2016 à décembre 2017, toutes les études sur les aspects de la restauration écologique sont importantes pour les visiteurs qui visitent notre espace et expérimentent les activités. Seulement 12% des écoles interrogées mentionnent la restauration écologique comme objet de la visite. Calcul des cours de ces écoles, 3.483 ellèves et 212 enseignants ont été servis. Les résultats indiquent que le jardin fait référence à la mission éducative et de conservation, la voiture est en phase avec le travail des écoles vacantes. Le contenu de l'article, en attente et après les visites, reflète les contributions et les compétences requises pour inclure le processus de restauration écologique.O Núcleo de Pesquisa em Educação para a Conservação é responsável pelas ações educativas e pela divulgação científica do Instituto de Botânica da Secretaria de Infraestrutura e Meio Ambiente do Estado de São Paulo e, através de seu programa educativo, visa fomentar a compreensão sobre a importância da conservação da biodiversidade, desenvolvendo visitas educativas e atividades de interpretação ambiental. De março de 2016 a dezembro de 2017, investigou-se quais aspectos da restauração ecológica interessaram aos professores que visitaram nosso espaço e vivenciaram nossas atividades. Apenas 12% das escolas pesquisadas apontaram a restauração ecológica como objetivo da visita. Nessas escolas, atenderam-se 3.483 alunos e 212 professores. Os resultados indicaram que o Jardim cumpre sua missão educativa e conservacionista, pois está sintonizado ao trabalho que as escolas desenvolvem.
