Resumo: The present article deals with public regulation of child abuse examining its legal apparatus. It elects the English children acts as a way to problematize the question. It emphasizes the role of social workers as main executive of the protection system. Finally, it establishes relations between the Children Act/1989 and the Statute of the Child and Adolescent/1990.
