Resumo: The State, in its discourse of protecting its citizens and the need for mass incarceration, uses its inherent powers to abridge rights and conduct them in such a way that structural inequality ends up amplifying the effects of the virus inside prisons.  Given this, this study aims to bring a reflection on biopolitics, biopower and necropolitics in women's prisons in the state of Amazonas and how this concept was sharpened in the public health crisis caused by the pandemic of COVID-19. This is an exploratory-descriptive literature review, using a qualitative approach. The period studied is the years 2020 to 2022, the peak of the COVID-19 crisis worldwide. The results point to a necropolitical regime of health care historically created in prisons, an environment not conducive to dignified living conditions, nor able to delay death.
