Resumo: This paper aims to emphasize the lower participation of women in the Brazilian politics, the question of Quote’s Law. In order to proceed with the analysis was built the Index of Woman’s Participation in the Politics. The analysis showed that greater participation of women in politics requires more than Quote’s Law. The path to be followed requires the production of political capital, among women.

The path to be followed requires the production of political capital, among women.Este artigo objetiva enfatizar a participação proporcionalmente menor das mulheres em relação a sua representatividade populacional nos cargos políticos brasileiros, questionando a efetividade da Lei de Cotas. Além de uma análise descritiva, evidenciando o progresso da participação feminina na política após as Leis de Cotas, optou-se pela construção de um indicador intitulado Índice de Participação da Mulher na Política (IPMP), no intuito de mensurar tal participação. Nele considera-se a atuação feminina na política, tanto no Poder Executivo quanto no Poder Legislativo. Mostra-se através da análise que a conquista de um espaço maior da mulher na política demanda mais que a fixação de um percentual a ser cumprido por partidos políticos.
