A feminist undercover in the barracks: between methodologies and the military

Resumo: This text presents reflections produced in a doctoral research that aims to follow the transexual military trajectories in the institutions, based in a multi-sited ethnographic perspective.Emphasizing the methodological path of the investigation, the objective was to problematize the presence of the researcher in the field, showing how corporeality, genders and sexualities affect the outlines of the processes of doing research. These elaborations took place from the insertion insecurity institutions, which are public and part of the state (Firefighters and Police, both military), and the need to combine the rigidity of formal authorizations with the permeability of the subjectivities that constitute the barracks. We apprehend how a sexual and a gender regime acts together with a military regime, in this specific group context.

Con énfasis en la trayectoria metodológica de la investigación, el objetivo fue problematizar el cuerpo del investigador en el campo, mostrando cómo la corporeidad, los géneros y las sexualidades inciden en los trazos de la investigación. Estas elaboraciones se dieron a partir de la inserción en las instituciones estatales de seguridad pública (Bomberos y Policía Militar), y la necesidad de combinar la rigidez delas autorizaciones formales con la permeabilidad de las subjetividades que constituyen el cuartel. Sepudo aprehender cómo la dinámica social permea la práctica científica y, en la especificidad de la investigación con militares, cómo un régimen sexual y de género actúa junto al régimen militar.Neste texto, apresentamos reflexões produzidas em uma pesquisa de doutorado que acompanhou trajetórias de militares transexuais a partir de um viés etnográfico multissituado. Com destaque para o percurso metodológico da investigação, o objetivo foi problematizar o corpo da pesquisadora em campo, visibilizando como corporalidades, gêneros e sexualidades afetam os delineamentos de pesquisa. Essas elaborações se deram a partir da inserção em instituições de segurança pública estaduais (Bombeiro e Polícia Militar), e da necessidade de costurar a rigidez das autorizações formais com a permeabilidade das subjetividades que constituem os quartéis.
