Resumo: This article aims to provide a theoretical-critical analysis of Protestant Christian Churches’ position in relation to the black people’s issues in the country and how schools can contribute to the deconstruction of a racist society. It starts from the premise that these churches have been silent about the marginal place which the black population occupies in the Brazilian society ever since the slave period. And also, that dealing with African history and culture in the school’s curriculum and everyday life has been increasingly difficult due to the problematic religious issue in the educational space.

And also, that dealing with African history and culture in the school’s curriculum and everyday life has been increasingly difficult due to the problematic religious issue in the educational space.El presente artículo tiene como objetivo tejer un análisis teórico-crítico acerca del posicionamiento de las Iglesias Cristianas protestantes en relación a las cuestiones del negro en el país y cómo la escuela puede contribuir con la deconstrucción de una sociedad racista. Se parte de la premisa de que esas iglesias se han mostrado omisas y silenciosas en lo que se refiere al lugar marginal que la población negra ocupa en la sociedad brasileña desde el período esclavista. Y, también, que lidiar con la historia y cultura africana, en el currículo y cotidiano escolar, ha sido cada vez más difícil debido a la problemática cuestión religiosa presente en el espacio educativo. O presente artigo tem como objetivo tecer uma análise teórico-crítica acerca do posicionamento das Igrejas Cristãs Protestantes em relação às questões do negro no país e como a escola pode contribuir com a desconstrução de uma sociedade racista. Parte-se da premissa de que essas igrejas têm se mostrado omissas e silenciosas no que se refere ao lugar marginal em que a população negra ocupa na sociedade brasileira desde o período escravista.
