Resumo: This paper addresses issues relating to the feminine ideal sanctified in the Cariri region of Ceará in Brazil and how it influences feminine values through the education system lato sensu. It takes as main source the hagiographic writings related to St. Luzia Coelho, Barbalha - Ceará (1923 - 1952), and some historical considerations applicable during that period. Then, it studies and reflects on how resulting feminine ideals have been developed from that. We consider how the hagiography of female saints has influenced the values associated with idealized sainthood and feminine role models in Brazil. We also highlight the links between some Catholic-Christian values relating to morality, family, and education and how they have contributed to shaping modern-day feminine roles and sainthood.

Aborda la escrita en estilo hagiográfico sobre Luzia Coelho, Barbalha-CE (1923-1952), en tanto elemento de propagación de modelos para el feminino, considerando el recuo temporal. La observación de la história de vida de las santas en el periodo anterior a la actualidad es importante para compreender como esos contextos históricos interfierem en los valores constituídos en Brasil para la idealización de la santidad y de los roles femininos. Destaca, a modo de sínteses, la vinculación de los discursos relacionados al código moral católico-cristiano, sus aspectos tambien relativos a la manutención de la familia nuclear y los elementos educacionales que propagan funciones para lo feminino y la construcción de la santidad.Trata das representações sobre o feminino santificado no Cariri cearense, observando que esse feminino atua como elemento de amoldamento dos sujeitos, na medida em que é também amoldado por meio de um fenômeno educativo lato sensu. Aborda a escrita em estilo hagiográfico sobre Luzia Coelho, de Barbalha – CE (1923 – 1952), enquanto elemento de propagação de modelos para o feminino, considerando o recuo temporal. Considera que a observação da história de vida das santas em período anterior à atualidade é importante para compreendermos como esses contextos históricos interferem nos valores constituídos no Brasil para a idealização da Santidade e dos papéis femininos.
