Resumo: | The Atlantic Forest has one of the richest and most threatened avifaunas on the planet and at its southern limit there is mixed ombrophilous forest, a phytophysiognomy of unique biological richness with a relict distribution. In Serra Gaúcha, the area covered by conservation units is low and studies about the avifauna in this region are scarce. The present work describes the richness and diversity of the bird community in Pinheiros Municipal Natural Park, in Gramado, RS, and provides new information about the local avifauna. Sampling was carried out at 13 fixed points between August and December 2020. The generated data were submitted to six ecological metrics to analyze the community, and the trophic guilds, occurrence status, conservation status, and Atlantic Forest endemics were classified for the species. We registered 125 species of birds distributed in 44 families. Tyrannidae and Thraupidae were the most abundant. In addition, the presence of migratory, endemic, rare, and endangered birds stands out, which highlights the importance of the site for the conservation of a notable portion of biodiversity and suggests this is a potential area for birdwatching activities in the region. |
