Culture of innovation and eco-innovation: the mediating effect of human resources practices

Resumo: This study examines the mediating effect of HR practices between innovation culture and eco-innovation. With a view to achieving the outlined objective, the empirical part of this study will be developed in furniture industries in the State of Rio Grande do Sul. A quantitative, descriptive and explanatory research was carried out, with multivariate data analysis. The sample totaled 88 questionnaires collected electronically from 38 furniture companies. The results indicated that the culture of innovation is positively related to eco-innovation. The individual analysis of the eco-innovation subvariables showed that the culture of innovation has a greater influence on the eco-process. Human resource practices (HRP) positively influence eco-innovation. In this way, eco-innovation can be implemented and better developed with the support of HRP. The mediating effect of PRH between the culture of innovation and eco-innovation obtained positive results confirming the research hypothesis.

Se realizó una investigación cuantitativa, descriptiva y explicativa, con análisis de datos multivariado. La muestra totalizó 88 cuestionarios recolectados electrónicamente de 38 empresas de muebles. Los resultados indicaron que la cultura de la innovación se relaciona positivamente con la ecoinnovación. El análisis individual de las subvariables de ecoinnovación mostró que la cultura de innovación tiene una mayor influencia en el ecoproceso. Las prácticas de recursos humanos (HRP) influyen positivamente en la ecoinnovación. De esta manera, la innovación ecológica se puede implementar y desarrollar mejor con el apoyo de HRP. El efecto mediador del PRH entre la cultura de la innovación y la ecoinnovación obtuvo resultados positivos confirmando la hipótesis de investigación.Este estudo examina o efeito mediador das práticas de RH entre a cultura de inovação e a ecoinovação. Com vistas ao atingimento do objetivo delineado, a parte empírica deste estudo será desenvolvida em indústrias moveleiras do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul. Realizou-se uma pesquisa quantitativa, descritiva e explicativa, com análise multivariada dos dados. A amostra totalizou 88 questionários coletados em 38 empresas do ramo moveleiro, por meio eletrônico. Os resultados indicaram que a cultura de inovação se relaciona positivamente com a ecoinovação. A análise individual das subvariáveis da ecoinovação demonstrou que a cultura de inovação apresenta maior influência sobre o ecoprocesso. As práticas de recursos humanos (PRH) influenciam de forma positiva a ecoinovação. Desse modo, a ecoinovação pode ser implantada e melhor desenvolvida com o apoio das PRH.
