Mapping Brazilian strictu sensu productions in social management: identifying patterns and their reflexes on the dissemination of the field

Resumo: Studies on Social Management began in the 1990s. The construction of this field is based on a model where individuals are placed as protagonists in the decision-making process, giving them a social space for speech. In approximately 30 years of studies and interpretations, Social Management has left records of its scientific evolution. This context led to the identification of behavioral patterns in theses and dissertations produced on the subject. Through the data mining technique, the advisors were mapped and the dissemination of the theme was evaluated. Theses and dissertations made available by CAPES from 2013 to 2019 with the expression “Social Management” were filtered. The application of a segmentation algorithm divided the 271 scientific productions into groups. The results indicate that a small group of teachers is responsible for most of the guidelines. Furthermore, in certain Brazilian states, the field is more institutionalized than in others.

La construcción de este campo se basa en un modelo donde los individuos son colocados como protagonistas en el proceso de toma de decisiones, otorgándoles un espacio social. En aproximadamente 30 años de estudios e interpretaciones, la Gestión Social ha dejado constancia de su evolución científica. Este contexto llevó a la identificación de patrones de comportamiento en tesis y disertaciones producidas sobre el tema. A través de la técnica de data mining, se mapearon los asesores y se evaluó la difusión del tema. Se filtraron las tesis y disertaciones puestas a disposición por la CAPES de 2013 a 2019 con la expresión “Gestión Social”. La aplicación de un algoritmo de segmentación dividió en grupos las 271 producciones científicas. Los resultados indican que un pequeño grupo de profesores es responsable de la mayoría de las directrices. Además, en ciertos estados brasileños, el campo está más institucionalizado que en otros.Os estudos sobre Gestão Social se iniciaram na década de 1990. A construção desse campo está alicerçada num modelo onde os indivíduos são colocados como protagonistas no processo decisório, dando-lhes um espaço social de fala. Em aproximadamente 30 anos de estudos e interpretações, a Gestão Social deixou registros de sua evolução científica. Esse contexto induziu a identificação de padrões de comportamentos nas teses e dissertações produzidas sobre a temática. Através da técnica de data mining foram mapeados os orientadores e avaliada a disseminação da temática. Foram filtradas as teses e dissertações disponibilizadas pela CAPES no período de 2013 a 2019 com a expressão “Gestão Social”. A aplicação de um algoritmo de segmentação dividiu as 271 produções científicas em grupos. Os resultados apontam que um pequeno grupo de professores é responsável pela maioria das orientações.
