The construction of a quality system in the brazilian market of Organic Products

Resumo: Consumption of organic products in Brazil has acquired visibility and, more recently, has a comprehensive legal framework with regard to inclusion and recognition of other ways of producing, for example, apart from organic production, the agroecologic and the  extractivism. In this spectrum, the point of view on quality of food guiding the production, distribution and consumption becomes a key element for market consolidation and preservation of its characteristics as a differentiated way to produce. This article explains the origin of construction and imposition of quality standards for organic products through institutionalization of a conception of control, drawn with participation of the state, which seeks to equate a problem of stability in the market of organic products. This research explores the contours of this construction of a conception of control, featuring its participants, explaining its main discourses and forms of engagement.

Neste espectro, a perspectiva da qualidade alimentar, que norteia a produção, distribuição e consumo, vem a ser um elemento-chave para a consolidação do mercado e preservação de suas características enquanto um modo de produzir diferenciado. Este artigo explana como se deu a construção e imposição de padrões de qualidade para os produtos orgânicos no Brasil por meio da institucionalização de uma concepção de controle, desenhada com a participação do Estado, que visa equacionar um problema de estabilidade  para o mercado desses produtos.
