Resumo: | In this study, we aimed to map the Olympics proposals submitted to the CNPq’s public calls for grants for 11 consecutive years (from 2005 to 2015) and to analyze their projects to identify elements that make up this action to encourage scientific dissemination in Brazil. Out of the 229 submitted projects, 96 were approved and financed for developing 21 Olympics in various areas of knowledge, the majority being for the exact and earth sciences. Associations and scientific societies stand out in their coordination, primarily concentrated in the Southeast region and represented by men. Arousing interest in the Olympics' theme is the most common objective of the projects. In contrast, the terms "science communication" and "popularization of science" are rarely spelt out as part of these objectives. |
