Velocity, frames per second and lens as experimental limitations to the use of digital strobe photographs

Resumo: | The use of strobe images is old and its application in Physics teaching becomes increasingly useful with the development of new apps and softwares. Strobe digital images present as promising in many fields of science, especially for the kinematics because they are cheap and simple. However, these experiments have their limitations, such as contrast with the background, lighting, camera frame rate, mobile speed, distortion of images by lenses. The present article demonstrates quantitatively and qualitatively some limitations of this technique to help in the design of experiments. |

Imagens estroboscópicas digitais se apresentam como promissoras em diversas áreas da ciência, em especial para o ensino de cinemática, pois são baratas e simples. No entanto, estes experimentos têm suas limitações, tais como, contraste com o fundo, iluminação, taxa de frames da câmera, velocidade do corpo e distorção das imagens pelas lentes.
