The project “Optics with Science”: From conception to the ultimate evaluation

Resumo: The present work is derived from the project “Optics with Science”, which was one of the winners of the Prêmio Educador Nota 10 Award, edition 2020. It is the result of some years of research, work and training in the area of ??science education. It is a prominently practical work, that is, it can be considered in solutions to real and everyday problems in the classroom routine and later in a theoretical systematization, as done in this work. The project starts from certain basic conceptions, among which science education must be able to produce citizens aware of the role of the scientific society. The project had the active participation and the protagonist of about 220 senior students of High School. The “Optics with Science” project was designed to be implemented in 16 meetings. Expository classes were interspersed with exploration and research activities. The results of this project are mainly those of engagement and learning. We do not seek to understand confirmations of previous suspicions or in terms of the degree of success of the project.

Trata-se do resultado de alguns anos de pesquisa, trabalho e formações na área do ensino de ciências e educação científica. É um trabalho de cunho proeminentemente prático, isto é, se pensou primeiramente em soluções para problemas reais e cotidianos na rotina de sala de aula e só posteriormente em uma sistematização teórica, como a feita neste trabalho. O projeto parte de certas concepções de base, entre elas a de que uma educação científica deve ser capaz de produzir cidadãos conscientes do papel da ciência na sociedade. O projeto contou com a participação ativa e protagonista de cerca de 220 estudantes do 3º ano do Ensino Médio. O projeto “Óptica com Ciência” foi desenhado para ser implementado em 16 encontros. Aulas expositivas foram intercaladas com atividades de exploração e investigação. Os resultados desse projeto são principalmente evidências de engajamento e aprendizagem.
