Civilian public records: the situation of files in the nucleus of metropolitan region of Florianópolis

Resumo: The civil registry documents officially emerged in Brazil, from the year 1888 and are responsible for registering the different stages of people's lives, from birth, marriages, until his death. With a view to have probative value that these records, this article discusses a study conducted in the Civil Registry Offices that are part of the core of the Metropolitan Region of Florianópolis composed of nine counties, which aims to identify management practices archival documentary focusing on conservation, organization and retrieval of information. Interviews were conducted and visits to selected units notary, besides the use of questionnaires. From the results obtained, are addressed through references and authors in the field, methods and means that can be followed to improve the packaging of documents in these units. For a better conservation and preservation of records to preventing the possible loss of documents, and to be able to access these records will be fundamental guarantee of citizenship in Brazilian society. Besides being a means to the permanent record of the memory, and cultural and documentary heritage of the Brazilian people.

Com vistas ao valor probatório que possuem esses registros, o presente artigo discorre sobre uma pesquisa realizada nos arquivos de Cartórios de Registro Civil participantes do núcleo da Região Metropolitana de Florianópolis. O objetivo é identificar as práticas adotadas para gestão documental arquivística nesses estabelecimentos com foco na conservação, organização e recuperação da informação. A metodologia utilizada para o levantamento de dados foi entrevista e visita às unidades cartoriais selecionadas, acompanhadas de preenchimento de formulário.
