Resumo: Humanity and, consequently, Archival Science have been influenced by contemporary technologies and behaviors, therefore, it is believed that the work of the archivist requires guidelines through codes of ethics. Assuming that ethics and morals should guide archivists work, since ethics guides conduct and morals guide behavior, the question that guides the development of this research is whether the Codes of Ethics of the International Council on Archives, of the Association of Canadian Archivists and the Society of American Archivists are adapted to changes in media and technologies supporting the archivist's professional work in the digital informational environment. The research aimed to analyze the Codes of Ethics of archivists with a view to professional practice in the digital informational environment. Regarding the methodological procedures, a research of a basic nature was carried out, typologically descriptive/exploratory, with a bibliographical design and that made use of the documental research method, qualitatively analyzing the codes of ethics and making inferences based on the literature studied, on the regulation of the profession and archives and national legislation. As a result, it is evident that the three codes of ethics do not contemplate actions specifically aimed at archival work in the digital environment, as the codes were not modified to meet the needs of this informational environment, but contemplate Ethics in the archivist's work in general. Finally, it is concluded that the Codes of Ethics guide the activities of the archivist, but updates will be needed to serve the digital information environment more efficiently.
