Classification of archivistic documents of the national foundation of indio: a case study

This paper aims to carry out an analysis of the filling plan function at the Fundação Nacional do Índio - FUNAI. FUNAI is the official indigenist institution of the Brazilian State, being the coordinator and main executor of the indigenist policy. It started with an evaluation of the filling plan the administrative activities and a survey and study of normative political documents. To achieve these objectives, an assessment of the filling plan was first carried out based on the methodology proposed by Sousa (2004). Afterwards, a survey of the institutional normative political documents was made, such as: Law and Decree of creation, institutional statute, internal regulation and organization chart, of which the functions and activities performed were identified. Based on this information, it was possible to correlate with the classes and subclasses of the plan, since these, theoretically, should represent such hierarchical structures. Consequently, we present guidelines for updating the respective instruments, to bring them closer to what archival theory provides. In short, it is hoped that this work will enable reflection on the instruments of records management, particularly the filling plan, which is configured as a sine qua non for eficiente records management
