Outsourcing in public archives: a critical analysis of the document management outsourced

Archival documents need of the records management, comprising routines and procedures that promote the rationalization of documentary sets   and that, recently, in Brazil, it has been the target of outsourcing. This analysis aims to present a reflection about hiring outsourced by Brazilian public entities to make the records management and their own activities among them: save, rate and evaluate sets as well as its viability / applicability on these institutions, introducing positives and negatives points of this practice. This study is justified by the necessity to reflect the consequences of outsourcing of records management in Brazilian Public Archives and to explore the undeveloped themes among Brazilian academics. The methodology used was exploratory. It is understood that the public archival document management is a duty of the Brazilian government and assumes that although outsourcing may be applicable in support of activities related to files, due to the current legislation, it is not advisable to do it when your purpose only decrease costs.
