Information literacy in the brazilian archival science undergraduate courses

Resumo: | The objective is to map the presence of the Information Literacy subject in the courses of Archival Science in the Brazilian Universities, by locating and evaluating the curricular degrees and of the identification and analysis of the disciplines with the subject Information Literacy in these curricula having as a parameter the “Information literacy competency standards for higher Education”, elaborated by the American Library Association. The research is characterized by a qualitative and exploratory approach. The construction of the theoretical reference was possible through a Bibliographic Survey that subsidized the development of the Case Study, where Documentary Research was used as a source of evidence and Content Analysis to analyze the documents listed. It was observed that the Information Literacy/Archival Science dyad moves slowly, although in the scope of undergraduate courses there are two disciplines that contemplate the subject explicitly and six other disciplines that contemplate in a transversal way, according to the categories proposed in this study. It is worth emphasizing that the approach developed in this research, on the Insertion of Information Literacy in the courses of Archival Science in Brazil, does not cover all the gaps related to the subject, but aims, above all, to encourage the development of other studies that relate the relevance of the insertion of this thematic in the archival discussions. |

A pesquisa caracteriza-se por uma abordagem qualitativa e de caráter exploratório. A construção do referencial teórico foi possível por meio de uma Pesquisa Bibliográfica que subsidiou o desenvolvimento do Estudo de Caso, onde se fez uso da Pesquisa Documental como fonte de evidências e da Análise de conteúdo para analisar os documentos arrolados. Observou-se que a díade Competência em Informação/Arquivologia caminha devagar, ainda que no âmbito dos cursos de graduação haja a presença de duas disciplinas que contemplem a temática de forma explícita e outras seis disciplinas que contemplem de maneira transversal, de acordo com as categorias de análise proposta neste estudo.
