Guard and preservation of the memory of a school culture

Resumo: The article presents results of the Extension Project Echoes of Memory of the Educational Culture developed by students, professors of the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and community of the Basic State School Jerônimo Coelho (EEBJC) in an effort of the construction and preservation of the memory of this centenary institution of the city of Laguna (SC). The sources of this work were "finds" of photographic albums, graduation boards and directorates produced between the years of 1918 to 1999. This basic school integrates the first seven School Groups implanted between 1911 and 1918 by the movement of modernization of the teaching in Santa Catarina state. These documents present traces of the memory of an educational culture that is part of the history of Santa Catarina's education. The assumptions of Milevski (1997) and Thiollent's (2011) methodological perspective on research action. Those involved in this extension project, actively participate in the process of conservation, preservation and restoration, with the guidance of specialists in the area. As a result, it was performed the cleaning of about 11 photographic albums and the creation of boxes and envelopes to adequately store these sources of research and memory. This reverberates the interaction between University, school and community while looking for the construction of memory and preservation of this school collection, which is a cultural heritage.

As fontes deste trabalho foram “achados” de álbuns fotográficos, quadros de formatura e quadros de diretores produzidos entre os anos de 1918 a 1999. Essa escola básica integra os sete primeiros Grupos Escolares implantados entre (1911 e 1918) pelo movimento de modernização do ensino catarinense. Esses documentos apresentam rastros da memória de uma cultura escolar que faz parte da história da educação catarinense.
