Melancholy Images of Manuscript Forgotten: an Original of Jorge Amado

Resumo: In 2011, professor Leonor SCLIAR Cabral (UFSC) donated a suitcase of documents that belonged to the Bahian writer Jorge Amado. The suitcase of documents belonged to the mother of the researcher, whose material was the result of his friendship with Jorge Amado maintained during the short period of the New State policy in the years 1941-1942, in the cities of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. These manuscripts reveal the author's memory archivist Bahia, elucidating the size of existing historical-fiction in his early novels, allowing the researcher interested in knowing the genetic mishaps and contexts of its production. During a visit to the Center for Literature and Memory, housed at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, coordinated by Professor Dr. Tania Oliveira Ramos had access to the contents of these materials were made available to participants for their discipline: The historiography of Brazilian literature. This article outlines so informative publication written by Jorge Amado, heartily endorsing the abrupt death of the Austrian writer Stefan Zweig, in the city of Petropolis in Rio de Janeiro. During the writing of this publication, Amado reinforces the loss that the author of the classic Brazil, a country of the future, would the national culture, showing the baggage left by erudite author. Ballast theoretical develop some authors, each in his own way, working the importance of archives and primary sources: Cunha (2003); Willemart (1999); Farge (2009), among others necessary. The contribution of this article is intended to make some results on the collaboration of Jorge Amado in newspapers of the time, as well as clarify the murky period of their cultural participation.

A mala de documentos pertenceu à mãe da pesquisadora, cujo material foi fruto de sua amizade mantida com Jorge Amado durante o curto período político do Estado Novo, nos anos de 1941 a 1942, nas cidades de Buenos Aires e Montevidéu. Tais datiloscritos revelam a memória arquivista do autor baiano, elucidando a dimensão do processo histórico-ficcional existente nos seus primeiros romances, possibilitando ao investigador interessado saber os percalços genéticos e contextuais da sua produção. Durante visita ao Núcleo de Literatura e Memória, sediado na Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, coordenado pela professora Dra. Tânia Regina Oliveira Ramos, tivemos acesso ao conteúdo desses materiais que foram disponibilizados aos participantes de sua disciplina: A historiografia da literatura brasileira. O presente artigo esboça de forma elucidativa a publicação escrita por Jorge Amado, referendando saudosamente a morte abrupta do escritor austríaco Stefan Zweig, na cidade de Petrópolis, no Rio de Janeiro. Durante a escritura dessa publicação, Amado reforça a perda que o autor do clássico Brasil, um país do futuro, faria na cultura nacional, evidenciando a bagagem erudita deixada pelo autor. Como lastro teórico, dialogaremos com alguns autores, cada qual ao seu modo, que trabalham a importância dos arquivos e das fontes primárias: Cunha (2003); Willemart (1999); Farge (2009); entre outros necessários.
