Resumo: The book  Memorias dos 40 anos da Arquivologia da UFSM give a context about the 40 years of knowledge and the graduate School for Archivist and its formation through teaching, extension and scientific research, organized  by professors Carlos Blaya Perez, Clara Marli Scherer Kurtz, Fernanda Kieling Pedrazzi, Rafael Chaves Ferreira and Sonia Elizabete Constante. The authors contextualize the development of the course in its 40 years in its reports about the sources of information in archival science in the country, focusing on the archives in its evolution of the 3 phases and the Brazilian scientific production in Archivology in its 40 years.
