STUDY OF IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN A COMPANY IN THE FOOTWEAR INDUSTRY

Resumo: | The demand for electricity has increased significantly in recent years, with the industrial sector being one of the largest consumers in Brazil. Thus, the objective of this article is to carry out a study of the energy management of a company in the footwear industry, to identify opportunities for improvements in energy efficiency and to carry out an analysis of the economic feasibility of installing photovoltaic panels to take advantage of solar energy. A survey of data on the company's energy consumption was carried out; the machines used and their energy consumption; and the physical structure and mode of operation of the company. All data obtained were computed in Excel software spreadsheets and graphs were generated for comparison and determination of the sectors and equipment that consume the most energy in the company. Thus, it was possible to identify opportunities for improvement and carry out a feasibility study for installing photovoltaic panels. Among the opportunities mentioned are the replacement of fluorescent lamps with LED lamps, and of machines and equipment with low energy efficiency for other more efficient ones, and the promotion of employee awareness regarding waste. Through the study, the economic feasibility of installing solar energy was attested. |

Assim, o objetivo deste artigo é realizar um estudo da gestão energética de uma empresa do ramo calçadista, para identificar as oportunidades de melhorias para eficiência energética e realizar uma análise da viabilidade econômica de instalação de placas fotovoltaicas para aproveitamento da energia solar. Foi realizado um levantamento de dados do consumo energético da empresa por meio das contas de energia; as máquinas utilizadas e seu consumo energético; e a estrutura física e modo de operação da empresa. Todos os dados obtidos foram computados em planilhas do Software Excel e gerados gráficos para comparação e determinação dos setores e equipamentos que mais consomem energia na empresa. Assim, foi possível identificar oportunidades de melhorias e realizar um estudo da viabilidade de instalação de placas fotovoltaicas. Entre as oportunidades citadas estão a substituição de lâmpadas fluorescentes por lâmpadas de LED e de máquinas e equipamentos com baixa eficiência energética por outros maior eficiência e a promoção da conscientização dos funcionários quanto aos desperdícios. Por meio do estudo, foi atestado a viabilidade econômica de instalação de energia solar.
