Resumo: | This article brings a brief historical-epistemological contextualization of observation as a practice, idea and epistemic category, passing through its understanding of an Aristotelian perspective to the advent of modern science. From the mention of theses by Hanson, Fleck and Shapere, it contextualizes the utopia of neutrality of a scientific observation. Concepts that still permeate science teaching, strongly empirical-inductivist, involving the utopia of a neutral observation, free from assumptions and subjectivities, which produce secure bases for obtaining knowledge, are harmful to a better understanding about the science. Finally, from the relevance of the History and Philosophy of Science to promote discussions on the Nature of Science, it presents examples of historical episodes that can, when properly explored, be addressed in science teaching. |
