For the complementarity of linguistic-enunciative, referential and polyphonic approaches to the study of narrative texts

Resumo: In this paper, the purpose is to show that the linguistic-enunciative, referential and polyphonic approaches proposed in Language Studies for the comprehension of narrative must be understood as complementary and necessary to the formation of the language teacher and the linguist of text and discourse. After all, the complexity of a narrative text is only verified by the joint consideration of the linguistic-enunciative, referential and polyphonic aspects of the composition of this text. Initially, we started from a brief presentation of linguistic-enunciative, referential and polyphonic approaches proposed for the understanding of the narrative. Then, in the light of the concepts proposed in these approaches, we will defend the interest of the articulation of these approaches by analyzing the first chapter of the novel “Dom Casmurro”, by Machado de Assis.

Después de todo, la complejidad de un texto narrativo solo puede ser aprehendida al considerar conjuntamente los aspectos lingüístico-enunciativos, referenciales y polifónicos que entran en su composición. Para mostrar la pertinencia de esta articulación de enfoques, partimos de una breve presentación de algunos enfoques lingüístico-enunciativos, referenciales y polifónicos propuestos para la comprensión de la narrativa. Luego, a la luz de los conceptos propuestos en estos enfoques, defenderemos el interés de la articulación a través del análisis del capítulo inicial de la novela "Dom Casmurro", de Machado de Assis.  Neste artigo, evidenciamos que as abordagens linguístico-enunciativas, referenciais e polifônicas propostas no interior dos Estudos da Linguagem para a compreensão da narrativa devem ser entendidas como complementares e igualmente necessárias à formação do professor de línguas e do linguista do texto e do discurso. Afinal, a complexidade de um texto narrativo apenas se deixa apreender mediante a consideração conjunta dos aspectos linguístico-enunciativos, referenciais e polifônicos que entram em sua composição. Para revelarmos a pertinência dessa articulação de abordagens, partimos de uma breve apresentação de algumas abordagens linguístico-enunciativas, referenciais e polifônicas propostas para a compreensão da narrativa.
