Resumo: This article aims to present some linguistic beliefs  from the “caipira” speakers’ dialect about their own speech. The analysis concerns  judgments about the discontinuous features characteristic of rural speech, which suffer social stigma and deserve more attention  for instance,   to search for the origin of the “caipira” dialect This search would significantly  contribute to the softening of the linguistic prejudice linked to  this dialect, since many of its features are revealing  of the influences of other languages in the process of Brazilian colonization. Consequently, from the theoretical assumptions about linguistic beliefs and attitudes, this type of linguistic practice is addressed by the informants participating in this study with the purpose of reflecting on such beliefs.

Consequently, from the theoretical assumptions about linguistic beliefs and attitudes, this type of linguistic practice is addressed by the informants participating in this study with the purpose of reflecting on such beliefs.Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar las creencias lingüísticas de los hablantes de dialecto  caipira sobre su propio discurso. Es el análisis de juicios sobre rasgos discontinuos característicos del habla rural, que sufren estigma social y que merecen mayor atención, ya que podrían estudiarse en la búsqueda del origen del dialecto caipira, lo que ayudaría en gran medida a suavizar el prejuicio lingüístico a. está vinculado, ya que muchas de las características de este dialecto son las características de las influencias de otros idiomas en el proceso de colonización del país. Por lo tanto, en base a los supuestos teóricos sobre las creencias y actitudes lingüísticas, este tipo de práctica lingüística de los informantes que participan en este estudio se abordará con el propó sito de reflexionar sobre tales creencias.Este artigo objetiva apresentar crenças linguísticas de falantes do dialeto caipira a respeito de seu próprio falar.
