Between Morphosyntax, Geographical Variation and Pragmatic Singularities: a didactic approach to forms of address using audiovisual materials

Resumo: | The use of pronominal forms of treatment is one of the most complex aspects of Spanish morphosyntax, according to Fontanella de Weinberg (1999). From the perspective of E/LE teaching and learning, it is a challenging subject, especially when considering the socio-pragmatic factors that are involved and the limitations of didactic materials. In this publication, we propose a sociopragmatic approach to the interpretation and learning of 2nd person pronominal forms of address - tú, vos, and usted - using audiovisual resources in Spanish as input. Using this proposal, which is aimed at the intermediate level of learning, it is expected that teachers and students can be more attentive (i) to aspects related to the diatopic variation when using forms of address; (ii) to issues of a pragmatic nature, such as social deixis; and (iii) to the multifunctionality of each variant. |

Desde la perspectiva de la enseñanza y aprendizaje del E/LE, es un fenómeno desafiador, esencialmente cuando se consideran los factores sociopragmáticos implicados y los límites de los materiales didácticos. Así pues, proponemos en esta publicación un enfoque sociopragmático en la interpretación y en el aprendizaje de las formas de tratamiento pronominales de 2ª persona — tú, vos y usted — tomando como insumo recursos audiovisuales en español. Por medio de la propuesta que aquí se presenta, la cual va dirigida al nivel intermedio, se espera que los docentes y estudiantes puedan estar atentos (i) a los aspectos relacionados a la variación diatópica en el uso de las formas de tratamiento; (ii) a cuestiones de naturaleza pragmática, como la deíxis social; y (iii) a la multifuncionalidad de cada variante.O uso das formas de tratamento pronominais é um dos aspectos mais complexos da morfossintaxe espanhola, segundo Fontanella de Weinberg (1999). Na perspectiva do ensino e aprendizagem de espanhol/LE, é um fenômeno desafiador, especialmente se consideramos os fatores sociopragmáticos implicados e os limites dos materiais didáticos. Assim, propomos, nesta publicação, uma abordagem sociopragmática na interpretação e na aprendizagem das formas de tratamento pronominais de 2ª pessoa — tú, vos e usted —, tomando como insumo recursos audiovisuais em espanhol.
