The dictionary in the classroom: guidelines for the lexicographic formation of language teachers in the face of pedagogical lexicography

Resumo: This manuscript brings discussions about Pedagogical Lexicography and basic concepts about the structure of the lexicographic work in order to contribute towards lexicographic literacy (DANTAS, 2014) of language teachers. Therefore, we intend that teachers, specifically Spanish as foreign language teachers, can deepen their understanding about dictionary resources and its use as a complementary didactic material for language teaching.  For this purpose, we developed a theoretical-methodological Guide concerning some resources that the dictionary brings with the aim of contributing to teacher’s education regarding the lexicographic work. Through the Guide, we expect to motivate teachers to use the dictionary in language teaching once it might be a way to improve their lexical competence and, as a result, the learners’ communication competence.

De este modo, se pretende que el profesor, en el caso específico de la lengua española como lengua extranjera, pueda ampliar su visión sobre los recursos del diccionario y su uso como material didáctico complementar en la enseñanza de lenguas. Para eso, se elaboró una Guía teórico-metodológica relativa a algunos recursos que el diccionario trae, con el objetivo de contribuir en la formación del profesor respecto a la obra lexicográfica. Con la elaboración de la Guía se espera que el profesor motive el uso del diccionario en la enseñanza de lenguas, ya que este puede ser un medio para mejorar la competencia léxica y, en consecuencia, la competencia comunicativa del aprendiz.Neste artigo apresentamos discussões acerca da Lexicografia Pedagógica e conceitos básicos sobre a estrutura da obra lexicográfica a fim de contribuir ao letramento lexicográfico (DANTAS, 2014) de professores de línguas. Assim, pretendemos que o professor, neste caso específico, de língua espanhola como língua estrangeira possa ampliar sua visão sobre os recursos do dicionário e seu uso como material didático complementar no ensino de línguas. Para isso, elaboramos um Guia teórico-metodológico relativo a alguns recursos que o dicionário traz com o intuito de contribuir na formação do professor em relação à obra lexicográfica.
