Resumo: The goal of this paper is to draw a historical view about how different thinkers and currents of thought on Germany, from the end of the 19th century until the beginning of the 20th century, dealt with the following problems: “what is knowledge” and “how can it be developed”? Four approaches were developed to deal with these questions, incurring in the question of History.
