Resumo: The media representation of colonial political women is loaded with elements imposed on this woman's experience. The current system in force in society is sustained through a hegemonic structure that guarantees a privileged place to dominant groups and keeps subordinate groups marginalized. Thus, colonial women disappear from global society and are stereotypically represented by mainstream media. In Latin America, the experience of these women is marked by inequality, in addition to the consequences of colonization, the compulsive introduction of Christianity and authoritarianism – the result of the military dictatorship. In this sense, the political life of Dilma Rousseff and Cristina Fernández was marked by the constant judgment by the media of their behavior, their appearance and even their mental health. Thus, the objective of this work is to understand whether subalternity is present in the media representation of Dilma Rousseff and Cristina Fernández during their respective presidential mandates. The method used will be the comparative policy study based on cross-sectional studies and the Iramuteq program. From the results found through the variables used, it is possible to confirm the presence of subalternity in the media presentation of these two political leaders.
