Literacy in video games: digital games as a content of multiliteracies

Resumo: This paper discusses the limits and possibilities of digital games literacy from the perspective of multiliteracies. It is a qualitative research that has as an investigation context an academic discipline focused on the educational dimensions of videogames and offered for undergraduate courses at a public university. The results were produced using data obtained from two different sources: 1) the assignments and other products generated by the course participants; and 2) a survey with questions related to different aspects of the training process. Finally, it points out challenges linked to the relationships between undergraduates and games and the transfer of knowledge from the discipline to the real world.

Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa que tem como contexto de investigação uma disciplina acadêmica voltada às dimensões educacionais dos videogames e oferecida para os cursos de licenciatura de uma universidade pública. Os resultados foram produzidos mediante dados obtidos de duas fontes distintas: 1) as tarefas e demais produtos gerados pelos participantes da disciplina; e 2) um questionário com perguntas voltadas a diferentes aspectos desse processo formativo.
