Resumo: This paper aims to present the state of the art of the Linguistic Atlas of Rondônia’s Project. The study follows the theoretical-methodological orientation of Pluridimensional Dialectology (RADTKE; THUN, 1996), Quantitative Sociolinguistics (GUY; ZILLER, 2007), Geosociolinguistic perspective (RAZKY, 1998), and the notion of Phonetic Grouping (RAZKY; TELLES; COIMBRA, 2019). 16 geographic points that compose ALiRO’s network were analyzed. In the geographic points that compose the cities of Rondônia’s rural zone, 4 informants were interviewed in each point, which were stratified according to the factor groups considered in this research, namely: age group (two informants from 18 to 30 years old and two from 50 to 65 years old) and sex (two men and two women). In the capital, 8 stratified informants were interviewed according to sex (4 men and 4 women), age group (4 informants from 18 to 30 years and 4 informants from 50 to 65 years) and schooling (4 informants with elementary education and 4 informants with higher education). Overall, 20 phonetic-phonological aspects were listed in ALiRO’s database, 9 concerning vowel segments and 11 concerning consonant segments. 2 phenomena are retained for the purpose of this paper: the middle vowels /e/ and /o/ in pre-stressed position and /S/ in internal syllabic coda position. The results, presented in 3linguistic maps and tables, indicate relevant phonetic variation from a geosociolinguistic perspective.
