Informational literacy competency of Brazilian Indigenous students at Londrina State University

Resumo: | http://dx.doi.org/10.5007/1518-2924.2017v22n49p102Addresses the informational literacy competency for higher education of Brazilian Indian students at Londrina State University, who were admitted at the institution through the entrance exam for indigenous population and Quotas law. Therefore, a questionnaire using Likert scale was applied to collect data on the students’ profile and measure their behavior frequency.To analise the results, it was used a categorization convention of the obtained averages, which are correspondend to behavior frequency reported by the research participants. The biggest information need found was concerning extra curricular activities. In general, Internet is the most accessed information source, with preference for the search engine Google. |

Aplicou-se um questionário em Escala Likert para coletar os dados sobre o perfil dos participantes e mensurar as frequências de seus comportamentos em relação à informação. Para analisar os resultados utilizou-se uma convenção de categorização das médias obtidas, correspondentes às frequências de comportamento reportadas pelos participantes.
