Researchers of the Brazilian archivistics scientific community in French international areas of interlocution

Objective: It is a research about the internationalization of Archival Science and institutionalization of this in Brazil from its dialogues with France. This article aims to present the participation of researchers from the Brazilian archival community in French scientific courses, publications and events. Methods: In a qualitative and quantitative approach, it is characterized as an exploratory and descriptive research, developed from the documentary analysis of 499 curricula of authors, advisors and co-advisors of 470 theses, dissertations and bachelor thesis on Archives and Archival Science, registered in the CNPq Lattes Platform. Results: The results of this mapping are compared to those of a 2011 survey and represent a more than threefold increase in the number of surveys; more than twice the number of researchers, masters and doctorates in France and articles published in French journals; and more than six times in the number of book chapters published in that country. Conclusions: It concludes that the information mapped in the curricula of Brazilian researchers is below reality, but found a significant increase in the number of their participation in French scientific courses, publications and events. However, these participations are still scarce, both quantitatively and qualitatively, given the traditional relations between Brazil and France.
