Resumo: This dissertation, presented for taking the master degree in Physical Education by UFSC, had central theme to understand Brazilian soccer in it’s social transformations along the history. A special attention was destined to instrumental technical soccer, as much at school as in the clubs. It was discussed the modernization of the Brazilian soccer, taking into account the ruptures ands synthesis between art soccer and force soccer, soccer as show and commodity, and the new sport laws, like Lei Zico and Lei Pelé. In search of studying this context, it was necessary to "retreat", and to understand the directions taken by the modern society, that brings together the marks and pretensions of science and absolut truth, fundamental points that impels the soccer in the direction of systemization and strong technical efficiency. It’s saw as very problematic, the instrumental character that this process assumes, mainly by teaching and training of young players.

It’s saw as very problematic, the instrumental character that this process assumes, mainly by teaching and training of young players.Esta dissertação, defendida junto ao curso de mestrado em Educação Física da UFSC, teve como centro de sua problematização perceber o futebol brasileiro no contexto social e suas transformações ao longo de sua história, tendo como incidência principal a objetividade técnica instrumental para qual está voltado prioritariamente o ensino do futebol em escolinhas e categorias de base. Na ocorrência disto, alguns fatores foram relevantes, desde a busca incessante da chamada modernização do futebol brasileiro, ocasionando uma discussão histórica entre a ruptura ou síntese entre futebol arte e futebol força, passando pela espetacularização do futebol como mercadoria e culminando com as novas legalizações que permeiam o futebol, entre elas Lei Zico e Lei Pelé. Na busca do entendimento deste contexto, foi necessário “recuar”, e compreender os rumos tomados pela sociedade moderna que traz a marca da cientificidade como pressuposto de verdade, ponto fundamental que impulsiona o futebol no rumo da sistematização, do tecnicismo e da eficiência.
