The following paper, based on the logic that goes from the general to the particular, will present 1- some sociohistorical views and analyses about the soccer in the Occident and that are supported such in the critical as in the defense vision, 2- the way soccer arrived Brazil and how it was consolidated as national sport, 3- the way it was introduced in the capital of the State of Minas Gerais that, coincidently, was planned and constructed in the same period of the insertion of soccer in the Brazil: the end of the nineteenth century and beginning of century the twentieth, and, finally, 4- some theoretical implications for the professionals of the Physical Education area about the contingent and contextual questions related to soccer in their practical didactics.
