Resumo: The main objective of this paper is to describe the scenery of the Brazilian sport, mainly in the sphere of the high performance sport, in the context of the preparation and organization of the Olympic and Paralympic Games 2016 through the planning, actions and the funding for sport in this period and the appreciation of similar experiences that allow us to point out some paths so that the main proposed objectives are achieved. After covering the indicated scenery, we verified the main proposals and planning for the Brazilian sport in the surrounding context for this study and we outlined some suggestions for achieving the expected improvements to the area, mainly in the high performance sport’s sphere.

After covering the indicated scenery, we verified the main proposals and planning for the Brazilian sport in the surrounding context for this study and we outlined some suggestions for achieving the expected improvements to the area, mainly in the high performance sport’s sphere.  El presente ensayo tiene la finalidad de trazar un panorama del deporte brasileño, sobre todo en la esfera del rendimiento, en el contexto de la preparación y organización de los Juegos Olímpicos y Paralímpicos de 2016, a través de la planificación, programas, acciones y financiación para el deporte en ese periodo y de la apreciación de experiencias afines que nos posibiliten apuntar algunos caminos para que los principales objetivos propuestos para el área sea alcanzados. Después de recorrer el panorama indicado, se verificaron las principales propuestas y planeamiento para el deporte brasileño, en el contexto delimitado para el estudio se delinearon algunas sugerencias para alcanzar las mejorías anheladas para el área, principalmente en la esfera del rendimiento.    O presente ensaio tem a finalidade de traçar um panorama do esporte brasileiro, sobretudo na esfera do rendimento, no contexto da preparação e organização dos Jogos Olímpicos e Paraolímpicos de 2016 através do planejamento, programas, ações e financiamento para o esporte nesse período e da apreciação de experiências afins que nos possibilitem apontar alguns caminhos para que os principais objetivos propostos para a área sejam alcançados.
