Childhood migration and education: between silences and urgencies in accessing rights

Resumo: This article analyzes how the child is approached in migratory studies and in social studies about childhoods. Its main objective was to reflect on how these areas can contribute to the recognition and realization of the rights of migrant children. On the Brazilian context, the empirical research used educational data from the public schools in São Paulo, and the methodology consisted of a bibliographic review of the areas mentioned along with a qualitative analysis of data related to early childhood education. We conclude that the childhoods lived between displacements have become objects of studies based on conjunctural inequalities, absence of social protection and human rights. The current context of research on population displacement still does not place on children its central focus, which contributes to keeping them apart from society or invisible in these processes. On the other hand, understanding it as a subject and childhood as a structural construction becomes fundamental to advance the realization of human rights regardless of borders and origins.

Para pensar o contexto brasileiro, a pesquisa empírica utilizou-se de dados educacionais da rede pública municipal de São Paulo, sendo a metodologia composta por uma revisão bibliográfica das áreas citadas junto a uma análise qualitativa de dados relativos a educação infantil. Conclui que as infâncias vividas entre deslocamentos têm se tornado objetos de estudos a partir das desigualdades conjunturais, ausência de proteção social e de direitos humanos. O atual contexto de pesquisa sobre deslocamentos populacionais ainda desconsidera a criança como foco central de suas análises, o que contribui para mantê-la a parte da sociedade ou invisibilizada nesses processos.
