Resumo: This text presents the role and the place of the play in the child humanization processas a childhood fundamental right. The aim is to discuss if what is to designed (theory) andproposed (practice) as a pedagogical intention contributes effectively for the promotion of playsituations inside a public school of a small city located in the paulista interior, from thecurriculum aspects in the Early Childhood Education under the lens of the Historical-CulturalTheory. It portrays investigative aspects with a group of six teachers of five years old childrenand the stories of these professionals from an applied questionnaire, adding registers ofobservation sessions of their practices. The results point to an appropriation value of scientificknowledge for the qualification of the teacher practice with the objective to create propitious toplay as a vital activity for the child humanization.

O objetivo é discutir se o que se concebe (teoria) e se propõe (na prática) como intenção pedagógica contribui efetivamente para a promoção de situações de brincadeira no interior de uma escola pública de uma cidade do interior paulista, a partir de aspectos do currículo na Educação Infantil sob a ótica da Teoria Histórico-Cultural. Retrata aspectos investigativos com um grupo de seis professoras de crianças de cinco anos de idade e os relatos dessas profissionais a partir de um questionário aplicado, somando-se a registros das sessões de observação da prática delas.
