Resumo: | This essay aims to read Le fate ignoranti, movie by Ferzan Özpetek (2001), from its margins. Considered one of the first italian LGBTQIA+ movies to be successful with the non-specialized audience, this movie constitutes an intricate labyrinth of references. The movie pictures Antonia, a woman that discovers, when her husband Massimo dies, her own foreigness, while she meets and begins to participate of the world he built in a love relationship with another man, Michele, and his “family” in Quartieri Ostiense, Rome. The text searches in the complex movement of Antonia outside her world some ways to (un)read ideas like truth, identity and knowledge, looking at the movie as a movement towards the open. |

Considerado um dos primeiros filmes de temática LGBTQIA+ produzidos na Itália a ter sucesso de público para além dos especialistas ou da própria comunidade, o filme constitui um intrincado labirinto de referências entre as quais circula Antonia, a personagem que, diante da morte do marido, Massimo, confronta sua própria estrangeiridade na descoberta do outro mundo que ele havia criado a partir de sua relação amorosa com outro homem, Michele, e a família-sem-família em que este vivia no Quartieri Ostiense, em Roma.
