As viagens de Gulliver são das muitas heranças da monadologia de Leibniz. Das sociedades que encontra, o viajante é sempre a sombra, isto é, os níveis de indistinção a partir dos quais se destaca um mundo: o homem-montanha que põe em evidência os pequenos liliputianos, o devir-imperceptível entre os habitantes (humanos e animais) de Brobdingnag. Se Leibniz compara a decisão divina de criação do mundo com maior quantidade de essência a um jogo em que se trata de colocar o máximo de peças em uma área dada, as transformações de Gulliver se destinam a distinguir esses máximos e mínimos, são, em suma, operações de integração. As multiplicidades que compõem cada sociedade são encaixadas pelo viajante, tal como o mundo orgânico aparece como um encaixe infinito sob as lentes do microscópio de Leeuwenhoek. No entanto, o que este ensaio procura mostrar é que tal operação de encaixe não se faz apenas pela visão, ou, dito de outra forma, não é somente através das lentes que sobrevém a mortificação das pequenas percepções.Palavras-chave: As viagens de Gulliver; Leibniz; Leeuwenhoek; integração.Gulliver’s monads: on the monadological heritage of LeibnizAbstract: Gulliver's Travels are one of the many legacies of Leibniz’ monadology. The traveler is always the shadow of the societies that he finds out, which means he is the blurring levels from which stands out a world: the man-mountain that highlights the small Lilliputians, the becoming-imperceptible among the inhabitants (human and animals) of Brobdingnag. If Leibniz compares God's decision to create the world that contains the highest essence with a game that is about putting as many pieces in a given area, Gulliver’s transformations distinguish these maximum and minimum, they are integration operations. The multiplicities that characterize each society are encased by the traveler, such as the organic world seems an endless encasement under Leeuwenhoek’s microscope lens. However, this essay seeks to show that such encasement operation is not done only by sight, or, to put in another way, it is not only through lens that the mortification of small perceptions befalls.Keywords: Guliver’s Travels, Leibniz, Leeuwenhoek, integration.
