Resumo: This article expands on a presentation given at [event name removed to preserve anonymity], in whicht I argued, based on the work of Theodor W. Adorno, that right-wing extremism cannot be explained as a psychological type, classist or cultural movement, but primarily as a formal structure of thought and language. The article further articulates the formal constituents described by Adorno in three schemas responsible for giving authoritarian thinking the rigid ordering of experiences: the chosen enemy, the empty suspicion, and the general corruption. Finally, the article presents the critical theorist's perspective on how to counter right-wing radical movements in the field of political thought.

A partir dessa interpretação, as constituintes formais descritas por Adorno são articuladas em três esquemas responsáveis por conferir ao pensamento autoritário a ordenação rígida das experiências: o inimigo escolhido, a suspeita vazia e a corrupção geral.
