Resumo: This article discusses some of the representations of the Paris Commune mobilized by Brazilian parliamentarians during the debates on the subject that took place throughout the legislative year of 1871. Based on an investigation that took as a documentary corpus the Annals of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of 1871, the text suggests that, in addition to concrete interests, party antagonisms and the analysis of the correlation of forces in the international system, other elements are relevant to understanding the disputes around a subject alien to the Brazilian reality. References to the Paris Commune emerged simultaneously with the passage of the bill that became the Law of the Free Womb, and excerpts from parliamentary speeches expressed registers of anticommunist concern. Therefore, the work seeks to problematize the representations mobilized by legislators to interpret and give meaning to the events of the Paris Commune, with regard to possible influxes in Brazilian society.

Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)2023-05-22info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalho/article/view/9353310.5007/1984-9222.2023.e93533Revista Mundos do Trabalho; Vol. 15 (2023); 1-19Revista Mundos do Trabalho; Vol. 15 (2023); 1-19Revista Mundos do Trabalho; v. 15 (2023); 1-191984-9222reponame:Revista Mundos do Trabalhoinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)instacron:UFSCporhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalho/article/view/93533/53280Copyright (c) 1970 Revista Mundos do Trabalhoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPereira Moreira, Raimundo Nonato2023-10-27T01:19:34Zoai:periodicos.ufsc.br:article/93533Revistahttp://www.periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalhoPUBhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalho/oai||revistamundosdotrabalho@gmail.com|| portaldeperiodicos.bu@contato.ufsc.br1984-92221984-9222opendoar:2023-10-27T01:19:34Revista Mundos do Trabalho - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)false
