Resumo: The 1924 Revolt in São Paulo relied on the immense participation of workers. According to the analyses of the legal process against the rebels was possible to attest that the civilians were numerically superior to the mutinous military and police. In addition to the civilians who composed the organized working class, there were those who chose enlistment in the revolting forces as a possibility of sustenance opposing hunger and those who spontaneously joined the popular protest, which promoted looting and intentional burning of factories and warehouses. This data drives us to review the definitions of the “tenentism” concept, which focuses on the agency of the military who hold the lieutenant rank and obscure all other groups that were involved in the movement.

Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)2023-04-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalho/article/view/9164810.5007/1984-9222.2023.e91648Revista Mundos do Trabalho; Vol. 15 (2023); 1-17Revista Mundos do Trabalho; Vol. 15 (2023); 1-17Revista Mundos do Trabalho; v. 15 (2023); 1-171984-9222reponame:Revista Mundos do Trabalhoinstname:Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)instacron:UFSCporhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalho/article/view/91648/52939Copyright (c) 2023 Revista Mundos do Trabalhoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessCastro, Maria Clara Spada de2023-10-27T01:19:34Zoai:periodicos.ufsc.br:article/91648Revistahttp://www.periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalhoPUBhttps://periodicos.ufsc.br/index.php/mundosdotrabalho/oai||revistamundosdotrabalho@gmail.com|| portaldeperiodicos.bu@contato.ufsc.br1984-92221984-9222opendoar:2023-10-27T01:19:34Revista Mundos do Trabalho - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC)false
