Resumo: The telenovela Avenida Brasil (Rede Globo, 2012) combines the most traditional melodramatic elements with a sophisticated stylistic composition in scenes of dramatic conflict. The cognitive theoretical framework guides the audiovisual analysis with the objective of pointing out the logic that makes possible the realization of a long-lasting product with a profusion of scenes considered unfeasible in television until a few years ago.
