Resumo: This article presents how indigenous peoples of MS have appropriated ICTs and how they have produced films and media culture, despite the historical process of spoliation of rights to which they have been subjected for centuries. It also reports the biased form as the mass media often disclose misinformation about these peoples. Through the analysis of the film "Jepea'yta - The main firewood", and interviews with several directors obtained in a field work, points to the possibility of the emergence of a new approach to the audiovisual that can lead to the birth of a true and unpublished "Indian cinema".

Relata também a forma tendenciosa como a mídia de massa costuma divulgar informações equivocadas sobre estes povos.
